A friend of mine has diagnosed me with OCD (of the highest order, maybe) with regard to house-keeping abilities, which I obviously deny by all means. Three course loads, a project that threatens to kill my brain cells, a quiz every week, thesis work (that has been on a priority list for over 3 months now), part time work, vetti time pass and other misc work notwithstanding, I chose to kill some more time with some analysis.
- I cannot see my kitchen space cluttered! vessels have to be washed as soon as a meal is done(this does not mean I do it promptly, but thats the way I will want it to be and maybe stick to it sometimes); stove space must be cleaned and gleaming or I wont feel like cooking another meal there amidst burnt remains of unidentifiable vegetable pieces and spilt sambar or rasam stains. You get the picture, don't you?
- All unnecessary lighting equipment, a/c unit have to be off when not in need. [Ok! I was never like this back home, but then, I never knew what the electricity bill back there was!]
- The bedspread can do without a wrinkle and maybe neatly tucked into the mattress. No pillows on the floor. [Just a personal comfort. Maybe a little picky here, but am I not allowed some rope?]
- Coats (especially the bulky mammoth-like heavy duty winter coats) should not be on the floor all over the room. Come on, this is reasonable, considering I am living in an efficiency! I have chairs and they can do with some back cushion, if you will.
- I would really prefer to have my clothes stacked in the closet. Thats why we have closets! I don't really mind if they are not folded neatly/just dumped in there. See now, If I wanted them all neatly pressed and folded and arranged by colour codes, then I might be Monica Geller!
- On a different tone, No matter how many times in a week (or in a day) I try to clear the clutter in my study desk, it always looks like a kuppa-thotti! Thats one thing I would really like to change.
Tell me frankly, are all these not even wee-bit normal????[comments will be accepted with an open mind :)]
Right now, I can't think of other things that I am constantly picked at, as attributes of this mysterious OCD I supposedly have, when I do remember more, I will keep this list updated!
Ciao.
